Der Philologe, Literaturhistoriker und Schriftsteller Michael Huber (1727-1804) übersetzte zahlreiche Werke der deutschen Aufklärung ins Französische, u.a. auch Johann Joachim Winckelmanns "Geschichte der Kunst des Alterthums".
